Santiago de La Caranta Fort: It was originally built in 1586. After the attack by the Dutch pirate Enrico Boduino in 1626, it was left practically destroyed; therefore, nowadays, only the ruins of what constituted one of the most emblematic sites of Nueva Esparta may be seen.
Opening HoursTuesday to Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
San Carlos de Borromeo Castle: Its construction began in 1664 and took some 20 years to be built. It was the most important castle of the island since it was Porlamar Port’s defense.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Juan Griego Fort: Tourists visit this place to enjoy the sunset and listen to the story of the fort sang by local small children. To the North, equipped beaches and almost unspoiled ones may be visited.
Opening Hours:Tuesday to Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
